Learn how Datarock Core manages subscription usage, access controls, and what happens when limits are reached or subscriptions expire.
What Is It?
- Proactive Usage Capping - Prevents processing that would exceed your contracted limits.
- Subscription Expiry Controls - Project access is based on subscription status.
How Proactive Capping Works
Datarock Core tracks your subscription usage and automatically prevents processing that would exceed your contracted limits:
- When you initiate processing, the system:
- Calculates your current usage within the subscription period
- Estimates the requirements of your new request
- Verifies your total processing entitlement
- Only allows processing if sufficient entitlement remains
If your request exceeds your limit, you'll receive a notification explaining why processing cannot proceed, with guidance on selecting fewer items or contacting your account administrator.
How Subscription Expiry Works
Datarock Core enforces access based on your subscription status:
- Project Access: You'll only see and access projects with active subscriptions
- Processing Capabilities: You can only run new processing for products with active entitlements
Historical Data: You'll maintain access to previously processed results, even if you can't run new processing
Benefits for You
- No Surprises: Prevents unexpected over-usage charges
- Continued Access: Maintains access to historical data even when subscriptions expire
- Immediate Feedback: Clear notifications about subscription limitations
Common Questions
Q: What happens if my subscription expires?
A: If all your subscriptions expire, you won't be able to log in. If only some expire, you'll still access active projects but won't see expired ones in your dashboard.
Q: Can I still see my data for products I don't subscribe to anymore?
A: Yes, you'll maintain access to previously processed results even when you can't run new processing. You need an active subscription for at least one product to access Datarock Core.
Q: What if I need to process more than my current limit?
A: Contact your account administrator to discuss upgrading your subscription or purchasing additional processing capacity.
