Datarock offers a mechanism for new customers to review our geotechnical capability by running a technical evaluation of the Datarock Platform, on your own core imagery, free of charge.
What data do you need to provide?
- 5 drill holes worth of imagery (of any hole depth),
- Core Loss information (if collected)
- Logged Geotechnical data (RQD and Fracture frequency if you have it) on 1 or 2 holes so we can produce a comparison for you (these aren't used in the generation of our data)
Please ensure that all images are submitted in .jpg format, as greyscale images are not acceptable.
What outputs do you receive?

Joint set analysis (JSA) | Click here |
Joint roughness coefficient (JRC) | Click here |

Unique Segmentation |
*Segmentation of quartz or light-colored veins may be possible for certain projects, contingent upon the clarity and visibility of the veins in the provided imagery. |
Product outputs can be delivered in CSV format. Selected products are not available to be downloaded via the Platform.
A presentation will be prepared to review your core photography and summarize the results of your trial, which will then be shared with your team.

How to access the Datarock Platform?
At the end of the technical demonstration, a member of the Datarock team will present the results to the customer, allowing them to ask any further technical questions they may have.
Additionally, a software demonstration will take place, and the customer will be granted access to their technical demonstration project on the Datarock Platform for a period of two weeks. If needed, this access can be extended by contacting our operations team.
What isn’t included?
- As part of the technical demonstration Datarock can only provide products that have general models in our system.
- Products such as lithology veins are built as required for each customer, so are not included as part of the technical demonstration.
A general model is trained on a large number of imagery in our system but will not contain any training from the customers specific imagery.
A unique model is a product that will be built specifically for a customer using either only or a majority of a specific deposits/sits imagery
How long does it take?
Upon receiving all necessary imagery, the technical demonstration generally spans approximately two weeks. However, this timeframe may fluctuate based on the availability of our team.
Why is it beneficial?
Experiencing Datarock’s automated geotechnical data and sample workflows applied to familiar datasets provides a compelling and quantitative demonstration of the value Datarock can deliver. Users can utilize the Datarock Platform to interact with this data, allowing them to visualize the outputs effectively and download the results for further analysis. This hands-on experience offers valuable insights into how the system operates in real-world scenarios.
Image uploaded and live processing are not currently included in the 2 week technical trial.
